Wow, it has been an exceptionally long time since I’ve written a blog post. I’m sort of nervous, as crazy as that sounds!

More than the nerves I have writing this blog post I am nervous about this site being live and out in the public. It is far from perfect and it is certainly not the way I’d ultimately like it to look, but I made a commitment to myself that I would launch it on/by the first of September and today is the first so, ready or not here it comes!

I’m working from home today and feeling exceptionally blessed that I can take a few minutes here and there when my brain gets overwhelmed to do little productive “me” things as I work. Also that I can work from home – that’s a huge perk. I’m currently sitting in a coffee shop as I write this.

Today is a crazy day for a few reasons: not only am I launching this website, which signifies the culmination of so many small goals for myself, but it’s also one year since I started my new job. That’s the other super meta thing about working from home on this day, specifically – it’s been a year since I took a chance and dove into something completely new, terrifying, and exciting. Apparently the first of September does this to me because here I am about to launch into an entirely new, crazy thing: re-investing in myself, my passions, and my side hustle.

This website is only the beginning. I have so many giant things planned for myself (and us) this month, this year, and even into next year. I have been planning like a mad woman and nothing can stop me. I’ve got the determination of Wonder Woman, the gumption of Princess Leia, and I believe (albeit occasionally naively) that anything is possible. I hope you’re as excited to come along on this journey with me as I am to bring you. The next few months are only the beginning. Stay tuned, this is going to be an awfully big adventure. ✨

    xoxo m

i’ve made the decision to cancel the kickstarter i’ve made the decision to cancel the kickstarter for my second book. for now! the timing just isn’t right so i’m hitting “pause”. if you pledged, the money you committed will just stay yours – kickstarter doesn’t collect pledges until the end.

i knew that the timing was off before i launched. there was a little voice in the back of my head whispering, “it’s okay to push the kickstarter back” and i ignored it. even though i knew that i hadn’t laid the groundwork for a well marketed launch, that i hadn’t done any of the things that i needed to do for a successful campaign, i believed if launched anyway that everything would just work out. my goal was my angel number, after all!

a bunch of people signed up for my newsletter at a con i was just recently at and i promised them the first half of my second book as an arc if they did. i’m getting ready to send that out, so if you’re interested, click the link in my bio to sign up for my newsletter. it’ll hit inboxes this weekend.

like i said, this isn’t a goodbye forever! i’m going to pause, re-group, prep my materials, marketing, content (yada yada), maybe even finish the book ;), and re-launch this project later… i’m not sure how much later, but you’ll know. there will be signs.

thank you again from the bottom of my heart and i hope to see you again for take two.

it’s about time i shared a poem from the new boo it’s about time i shared a poem from the new book, huh?

this one’s called “bee poem” – aptly named, i think, since it’s about the furry little angels who keep our gardens looking so fresh. 🐝

i’m a few days late, but no need to wax poetic!! this year i’m just grateful for the experiences i’ve had the opportunity to have, the lessons i’ve been lucky enough to learn, and the people i’ve been blessed to have and learn them with.

i’m so ready for next year; big things are coming. i’m honing in on the life i know i want to live and listening to my gut deeper than ever before.

yes i made myself a cake with 25+ pics of my ult bias: Jongseob from P1Harmony on it. 😍 also yes, we made it back to the purple hair timeline, y’all!

Tomorrow, Saturday @geekgirlcon! You are an Artis Tomorrow, Saturday @geekgirlcon!

You are an Artist!!!
Furiosa room, Saturday, November 8th
10:00-11:00a

If you don’t think of yourself as an artist we invite you to spend an hour with us and we hope we can change your mind. As a panel we each have a story in us, a point of view and a perspective that only we can bring to the world, and so do you. In our time together we’ll discuss art not only as escapism and joy, but also as sustenance — necessary fuel for movements, as a strategy for survival, and as a declaration of presence in a world that often tries to erase us.

Panelists: @itstashhaynes, @mrzacharysterling, @cblee_cblee, and @kiricallaghan
Moderator: me, @malaray!
